I must have passed this motel at least one hundred times because I decided to stop and take a photograph. Blink while you’re driving down Lincoln and you’ll miss The Guest House Motel but, once you see it, you can’t help but love the charm of this old sign. I adore the crazy, fountain-like lights spraying out of the top and the gorgeous blue of the sign itself.
One of the fantastic things about Chicago is all of the amazing, old signs all over the city. One of the sad things about Chicago is that these signs are a dying breed. I certainly hope this one stays around for years to come.
Enjoy!

I love this!
How do you get this incredible black frame around the picture??? Love it….and, yes, the sign is just amazing.
Thank you Ragnhild! The black frame is a TtV “Through the Viewfinder” layer I created using my old Kodak Duaflex camera and a TTV setup. I just shot against a blank background and I get all the fun, grittiness of the TtV shot that I can apply to regular photos using Photoshop
