Not long ago, I introduced you to the newest member of the household, Jack. The first few weeks with Jack were a little crazy thanks to upper respiratory infections for both him and Charlie and multiple vet visits over a two week period. I am happy to report though, we seem to be past all that and it looks like Charlie and Jack have become pretty fast friends. (can you tell from the photo above?)
Now, Jack does still annoy Charlie plenty. Picture a 19 pound cat (who, by the way is not an overweight 19 pound cat but rather large, muscular one) being chased by a three pound, pint sized runt, all the while squealing like a small child at the prospect of being caught. Having my camera phone at the ready has been a must because, while it’s not going capture pictures as well as good old Bessie (yes, that would be my SLR) I would never be able to capture moments like this without it.
I also admit that I have become quite obsessed with downloading camera apps on my iPhone. If you have one, check them out. Apps like Instamatic and Hipstamatic, among others are a lot of creative fun!
Having Jack in the house, while initially rather stressful has been such a tremendous joy. And as much as Charlie might want to whine and cry when Jack chases him (which I don’t blame him, his nickname has become “Vampiro” for all the biting) I truly think Jack has been just what Charlie needed since Oliver passed away. What do you think?
Enjoy!

Awwwwwww is right! How cute are they! Perhaps Jack will keep Charile young while keeping him on his toes;)
Thanks Debbie! Jack is definitely working hard at keeping Charlie young
I use my Android phone for a lot of photos and it does take some great photos.
My, they’re soooo sweet! I can’t believe they’re actually hugging in their sleep! I’m glad to hear Jack’s doing ok
.
Angeline- My brother loves his Android phone… so many wonderful camera apps as well!
Sunsetseasoul- Thank you so very much!
I love them! I also have a 19 pound cat who is a healthy weight. I was shocked that he weighed that much at his last vet appointment. He doesn’t seem large, but 19 pounds is a healthy weight for a cat.
I was shocked as well but I have always held that Charlie and his brother Oliver are/were part Ocelot… or mountain lion or something. (of course they’re city cats who were living on the streets of Chicago but hey maybe a mountain lion took a wrong turn somewhere
)
Thankfully, for my downstairs neighbors sake, I think Jack is going to be long and lean rather than bulky so it’s a little less noise when they’re chasing each other!
I can hear Atticus coming down the hall…for 19 pounds he sounds like a human wandering around the apartment.
Found your blog while looking through the Themes Showcase. Absolutely beautifully done. My only camera is my iPhone 4S; I, too, am a photog app hunter and user. Love Hipstamatic (the “processing” is a hoot) as well as a multitude of others.
Am an animal person so this blog entry so far is my fav. And the “Awwww” is just that – how blessed you are in your pets and your photos.
Thanks for sharing your tallent; have a great Thanksgiving.
Thank you very much for stopping by… I appreciate it and I wish you a great Thanksgiving as well!
