That is so cute, my cat doesn’t let me take pictures of him. He’s so hancsome too, do you have any tip on how I can capture some images of cats. I have five and I would like some beautiful pictures of them.
Thank you With animals, especially cats, who aren’t as easily appeased and distracted as some dogs, I would stick to trying to photograph them when they’re already calm: almost asleep, asleep, sitting calmly. Otherwise, you’re going to be chasing them around the room which is fine if you’re using an SLR, because you can use their motion (and camera settings) in a creative way. (either by panning and blurring the background while the cat is “frozen” or adjusting your settings to freeze all motion) In the end, it takes a lot of practice, a lot of bad photos and knowing what needs to change for the next photo shoot
Thank you, I have an SLR but the pictures I want more of are like this one, that idea is very good. I’ll probably take some in that way when I finally get the hang of capturing them when they are calm.So I guess I going to need a lot of patience and practice.
Patience is key I end up taking a LOT of photos and only liking a few. I would recommend using a lens where you can set the f stop to something around 2.8 – 4 so that you can get some great depth of field. I used a 50mm in this case and find it’s one of the easiest to use with Jack and Charlie
Thanks, I have a 50mm lens. I guess I’ll be taking alot of pictures this soon.
The best cat images I personally seen. How do you get your b&w work to look so stunning. The blacks and darks are terrific. Gina
Thank you Gina! It’s all in the lens and exposure settings
(and a lot of practice!)
Was it taken using the 50mm f1.2? Thanks
It was taken with a 60mm f2.8
Looks like we were both taken with cats for blog inspiration today. They are so fun and uncooperative to photograph!
Thankfully, mine are so used to having a lens stuck in their face they’re pretty good. Still fun though!
