Photo of the Day- “Message in a Bottle”

"Message in a Bottle" - Tracey Capone Photography

Taken off the coast of Maine, one of my favorite places to visit in the US, “Message in a Bottle” represents what I love most about traveling through this beautiful state. Drive along the coast, on a beautiful, calm day and you will witness such a contrast between the rugged, jagged rocks jutting out in to the serene Atlantic.  It is this rugged beauty that has drawn my back to Maine several times over the last few years. (that and the lobster rolls ;) )

Enjoy!

It’s getting cooler here in the Land of Wind, how about where you’re at? I’ll admit, I’m one of those crazy people who love the cold weather and, having lived in Tennessee for the last three years, I am so very happy to be back to the crisp, cool Autumns and pending winter. (bring on the snow!) That said though, I am quite certain that some time come February or March, I’ll be feverishly wishing for some warmer weather.

“Crimson,” from the coast of Maine, one of the newest in my gallery, is a photo that reminds me of just such a day. Enjoy!

My Favorite Finds- LampGoods

Happy almost New Year! Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve been able to do a “My Favorite Finds.” In the coming new year, I will definitely be spotlighting more work from other artisans and, for now, a taste of what’s to come.

Today, I’m spotlighting the work of LampGoods who can be found here on Etsy. The quality of Jann’s work is phenomenal, to say the least. I recently purchased one of the hanging pendant lamps for my mother for Christmas and, having seen them in person, I can’t say enough about them.

Not only will you find amazingly unique handcrafted pieces but Jann is amazing to work with, always willing to answer questions and work with you to get the order right the first time. They’re shipped quickly and without issue and I am happy to say I have a very happy Mama Caponie :)

Check out these three finds, as well as many others at LampGoods’s shop on Etsy!

Going to a Good Home- “Along the Shoreline” A set of three 5×5 prints

Anyone who knows me knows that, aside from photography, traveling is one of my favorite hobbies. Whether it be abroad or here in the States, I love traveling to new destinations and discovering all they have to offer but also have some all time favorites that I’ll go back to time and time again. One of my all time favorites is Maine.

Whether shown in photographs or in movies , in person it’s as picturesque and beautiful as you’ve imagined. Small, quaint towns, beautiful, jagged shorelines, and, I have to say it, the best damn lobster sandwiches ever. (A note, if you’re in Maine, passing through Wiscasset, you have GOT to stop at Red’s Eats. It’s a must.)

All that said, it’s no surprise that I have a number of photographs from my visits to this beautiful state. Three of these photographs, “The Beacon,” “Horizon” and “The Line” are all part of a three print limited edition metallic set called, “Along the Shoreline” being offered in my online gallery. While they are listed as 5×5 prints, they’re available in any size from 4×4 all the way up to 30×30 and I’m pleased to say that one of these sets is off to a good home. This limited edition print set is available in my online gallery, along with many others.

Going to a Good Home- “Beacon”

Ended my day on a happy note with the sale of an 8×8 metallic print, “Beacon.” This is one of my favorite shots of the Port Elizabeth Lighthouse in Portland, Maine. I layered it for a TTV feel (check back for an upcoming blog post to come about “Through the Viewfinder” photography) and absolutely love the colors. The Kodak Endura Metallic paper that it’s printed on truly brings out the vibrant colors and intense blacks in the photo. Very happy to say farewell to this photo as I know the buyer will enjoy it as much as I do! This is a limited edition print that I have relisted in my shop.
