Photo(s) of the Day: Engagement Session- Kristen & Joey

While I love the fine art side of my photography business, I have enjoyed adding to my portrait portfolio through maternity sessions, individual sessions and engagement photography such as those in today’s Photos of the Day post.

I met Kristen and Joey through my experience at the pop up at West Elm back at the beginning of the year and they were so much fun to photograph. Taken at various locations around the city, including Navy Pier and Millennium Park, these two clearly love one another and the camera loves them.

I look forward to having more opportunities like this one as it allows me to exercise my photographic chops in a much different way than I would when photographing a landscape or building. See more of my portrait work here on my website and keep checking back because the schedule is filling up so many more will be added!

I wish everyone a fantastic weekend! For those experiencing the heat and drought that we are in Chicago I wish you much rain and a break in the heat very soon!

Enjoy!

Photo(s) of the Day – Portrait Session: Stella Grey Bags

Back in January, I participated in a show here in Chicago and had the pleasure of having my booth next door to one of my fellow merchants at theAndersonville Galleria, Stella Grey Bags. The show itself wasn’t very fruitful but I am happy that I had the opportunity to meet and get to know Sally, the owner and designer of the most awesome vegan leather bags I have seen. (and I am now the proud owner of four of them). Sally and her sister-in-law Susan made the four days more than bearable, they made them fun.

When Sally asked if I would do her portrait for her website, I was excited because I knew that a portrait session with her would be anything but boring and I am happy to report I was not wrong. Shot in the Fulton Market District of Chicago I combined Sally’s hip, urban style with the fun, retro, urban grit of the Fulton Market and we were both quite happy with the results. (a note: if you are in Chicago and decide to do a photo walk through the Fulton Mark District, do it on a weekend… on weekdays it’s like playing a human game of Frogger)

I am looking forward to going back to the Fulton Market to take some photographs as, between the old signs and the beautiful, old architecture, I am sure to come away with a full memory card.

If you are in the Chicagoland area and are looking for photographs with a funky, retro vibe, please feel free to contact me at info@traceycaponephotography.net. I am currently accepting appointments for: individual or family portraits, engagement photos, web page and product photography, or maternity and newborn photography.

Enjoy!
