New to the gallery is, “Off in the Distance, ” a rustic photograph with hints of indigo blue and crimson of the prairie and woodlands of the Chicago Forest Preserve.  Yet another example of why I love Fall, and all it’s beautiful colors, so much.

Rainy Morning Glory…

"The Hold Outs" - Tracey Capone Photography

So today, instead of spotlighting a treasury I created, I thought I would include one that someone else included one of my prints in.

I love this treasury by BlondeChick at Etsy; it really evokes that warm, cozy feeling you get on a rainy, cool day when all you want to do is snuggle up on the couch under an afghan, sitting in front of a fire.

I’m so pleased to have “The Hold Outs,” one of my newest prints, included in this lovely collection. Please check out the rest of the shops included as they have some wonderful finds!

Enjoy!

Acorns and Oak Leaves… a Treasury

Acorns and Oak Leaf by amberalexander at Etsy

While I love the crimson and orange of Autumn, I also love the rusty, smoky colors that come along with them. Acorns and Oak Leaves,  a new treasury at Etsy, was inspired by these gorgeous colors which can be found in the beautiful watercolor by amberalexander, “Acorns and Oak Leaf.”

How amazing is that olive green cloche by yellowfield7 or the beautiful flower earrings by Meetals? Autumn is one of those seasons that provides so much in the way of color inspiration for so many fine works of art.

Please take a peek in each of the shops included in the treasury… you won’t be disappointed!

I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter… a Treasury.

"I Love You" by michelemaule on Etsy

You can always tell I haven’t eaten breakfast when I pull together a treasury whose theme has anything to do with food. And, while today is no exception, I also pulled these lovely finds together because I love the color combination of butter yellow and teal. So fun and lively yet so elegant at the same time.

Can you guess how much I want those nesting bowls by whitneysmith? Gorgeous!

Be sure to check out each Etsians shop because they have a number of great finds…

Enjoy!

One Fine Day, While Walking to the Post…

"Travelling Light" Vintage Inspired print by alicewphotography at Etsy

…I came across a beautiful, fall leaf that made me stop and pick it up. Burnt oranges, coppers, chocolate browns, pale butter yellows, creme and even a hint of teal and gray. It was so beautiful, I couldn’t keep it. I set it down and kept walking. I hope someone else noticed it and couldn’t help but stop and pick it up…

Check out the lovely Etsy shops for many more beautiful items just like these.

Enjoy!

New to the Gallery- Canterbury

Brand new (not “relatively new” like the last couple have been) to the gallery is “Canterbury” an 8×8 metallic print.

The name came from the frequent use by Geoffrey Chaucer of the word whippletree, another term for a dogwood,  in “The CanterburyTales.”

Enjoy!

Meet the Artist- Janna Bissett of lilacpopphotography on Etsy

"Four Barrel" by lilacpopphotography at Etsy

I love art… any art, in any form. I need more walls, well and a bigger bank account, just to keep up with the amount of art I have and want to purchase. So, as I live in a city apartment and don’t have unlimited funds, I’ve decided to feed my addiction to art by interviewing other artists.

Ladies and Gents, drum roll please… introducing “Meet the Artist.”

Each month, I’ll be introducing you to a new artist. Get to know them, check out their galleries and fall in love with their work as much as I have.

To christen this new feature, please allow me to introduce you to Janna Bissett of lilacpopphotography on Etsy. Not only is she just the sweetest person around, I absolutely love her work. The pops of color, the gritty, urban feel; love, love, love.

So, without further adieu, meet Janna…

New to the Gallery… “The Extrovert”

Admittedly, I’m behind on posting some of my newer creations so, no time like the present, however, perhaps I should change the title to “Relatively New to the Gallery” How about this… “Added to the Gallery Within the Last Month or So?” It’s a mouthful but it will do.  Time just gets away from you…

“The Extrovert,” shot here at the Chicago Botanical Gardens is “relatively” new to the gallery and one of my favorites. It was recently purchased in a large format print and I truly wanted to keep it for myself :) (Wait, I’m the artist, I suppose I can right?)

The flower is in no way Photoshopped, it was just THAT pretty. I loved how it stood out against the murkiness of the pond it was in. Fact of the day… that’s actually one of the reasons the lotus flower symbolizes perseverance against all odds… something so beautiful can grow up from the dark, dirty waters of a pond.

Enjoy!
